Problem
There is no, or only select, audio coming from the Display unit.
Symptom(s)
- No audio from the HiFi Microphone (live audio)
- No Review audio
- No button or touch-screen beeps
Solution
Summary
- Check volume settings
- Check cabling
- Check the HiFi Microphone and base
- Check the Display
- NOTE: the Display unit speakers get audio from different sources:
- Review audio or Live HiFi Microphone audio: via the Display cable from the 4RE DVR
- Button and screen beeps: generated on the Display unit itself
Details
- Check volume settings
- While the 4RE system is on, press either the Volume + or - button on the Display unit
- Tap Advanced on the screen
- Check each of the Volume settings to be sure they are set to a level loud enough to hear
- No HiFi Microphone audio
- Replace the cable from the HiFi Microphone base to the 4RE DVR
- Try a known working good HiFi Microphone base
- If this works, replace the HiFi Microphone base
- Try a known working good HiFi Microphone
- If this works, replace the HiFi Microphone
- No audio from the Cabin Microphone when Reviewing Events
- IMPORTANT: Do not unplug or plug in the Cabin Microphone while the 4RE system is powered on
- Try a known working good Cabin Microphone
- If this works, replace the Cabin Microphone
- No Review audio
- Re-seat the Display cable at the Display and at the 4RE DVR
- Try a known working good Display cable
- If this works, replace the Display cable
- Try a known working good Display
- If this works, replace the Display
- No button or touch-screen beeps
- Try a known working good Display unit
- If this works, replace the Display unit
- Try a known working good Display unit
