Problem
The Transfer Agent/Service on a new Windows 10 workstation may not be recognized by the Evidence Library server. The Transfer Service logs show the following error:
System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Keyset does not exist
Symptom(s)
- The Transfer Agent is unable to see exports on the workstation
- The Transfer Service will show no ports open and not communicating with the server
Solution
Summary
Set correct permissions on MachineKeys folder.
Details
- On the workstation, find the MachineKeys folder at
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\
- Right-click the MachineKeys folder and choose Properties
- In the Security tab, add or update Authenticated Users with Full Control
- Click OK
- Restart the workstation
