Scenario
An officer starts his vehicle, powering up the 4RE system. Another officer used the car previously and was logged in. The current officer forgets to log in, and all of his shift's events are then registered under the previous officer.
Procedure
Attached you'll find a script to log out the previous user on the 4RE system upon a system startup.
- Extract this file to a USB flash drive using Windows Explorer, WinZip, or another zip application
- The file should be located here:
[USB flash drive]:\wgv\scripts\script.sh
- With the 4RE system booted, press and hold the "STOP" hardware button on the 4RE display
- This will provide a prompt to safely dismount the current USB flash drive in the system
- On the DVR, use the key to open the door on the front and remove the USB flash drive
- Next, insert the USB flash drive you copied the script to
- On the 4RE display, after a few seconds, it should read that the script was processed successfully and the USB flash drive can be removed
- Remove the USB flash drive, replace the original, and close the door on the 4RE DVR
- To test, first ensure that you're logged into the 4RE as a user (Menu button > Officer)
- The officer name will be depicted in the text overlay on the bottom right of the screen
- Press the "O" button at the bottom left of the display unit to initiate a shutdown
- When the 4RE unit is completely shut down, press the "|" button to the bottom left of the display unit to start it up again
- Upon startup there should be no officer name in the text overlay at the bottom right of the screen
